FAQ’s

Can I bring a plus one?

We are having a smaller wedding and carefully crafted our guest list to ensure we can spend the maximum amount of time with the people who mean the most to us. If you did not have a specific name listed on your envelope, we kindly ask that you do not bring a guest who we do not know personally.

Are we allowed to bring our children?

We love all the little ones in our lives, but have decided that the wedding will be child-free. We understand this can be an inconvenience for parents and hope you can enjoy the evening as a special date night. If you need childcare recommendations, please reach out.

Will food allergies be accommodated?

Yes! Please be sure to list your allergies and preferences on the RSVP form. McKenzie is gluten-free, so there will be plenty of options for everyone. We are working with a lovely restaurant, Cafe Olli, as our caterer and they are well-versed in accommodating allergies.

What is the dress code?

Please wear formal attire. To us, this means suits and mid to long dresses. We encourage you to have fun with it! Please refer to the mood board for inspo if you need it. If your dress has a little white on it, or you wear white accessories, that is totally fine. With the wedding being in mid-September, nights can cool off significantly as we head into fall. Hood River is typically around 75 in mid-September and is notoriously windy. Please plan accordingly.

Who should I reach out to with questions?

If you have a question anytime up to the weekend of the wedding, please reach out to either McKenzie or Ryan and we will be happy to help. If your question is during the wedding weekend, we kindly ask that you refer to our wedding website for the information. We’d like to be present and phone free as much as possible.

Can I get reminders and updates?

Yes! We recognize 99 percent of our guests are out-of-towners (including us!) and hope the site is helpful as a reference point. If you’d like to receive (minimal) text reminders for the welcome party and wedding day, please add your cell number(s) when you RSVP. We won’t spam you!

Are there hotel blocks?

No. Please refer to our “Travel” page for a very detailed breakdown of options in the area. We highly suggest you book your lodging as soon as you know you’re able to attend. Most hotels in the area have been booked for months due to it being peak wedding and fishing season. We booked our condo via Columbia Gorge Vacation Rentals which has a bit more availability than Airbnbs the last time we checked. Please book early!

Are there ride share options?

Yes, but they are relatively new. Uber just arrived in Hood River but still has limited drivers. We have arranged a shuttle to take all guests to and from the venue. It is literally a refurbished school bus that allows booze, food, and karaoke if that will encourage you to utilize the transportation we are providing. As mentioned in the homepage, our venue does not have on-site parking and we do not want any guests to drink and drive. We recommend Hood River Pedi Cab.

Will Olive be in attendance?

This is our most asked question! Likely no. Olive is rambunctious, has a massive, destructive tail, and now two (!!) bad knees. Unfortunately the star of our lives will not be the star of the evening but she will be with us in spirit (and likely in errant dog hairs).
